Calling all Filmmakers! Are you shooting a historical drama, a Telenovela about lust and ambition or a family saga about the sins of the Fathers? This 1926 heritage property fits all of the above requirements and more! It is situated on a Houghton acre in a lush, terraced garden.

There is a romantic fountain, plus a circular drive, the perfect setting for a horse and carriage scene. There are 180° degree views from the lapa, of the Northcliff, Killarney, Rosebank and Sandton skyline, which may be included in your shoot (there is ample space at the top of the property to accommodate crew and equipment). The secluded pool, surrounded by lush greenery, creates another perfect film setting.

The architecture of the main house and the original Coach House, is Herbet Baker inspired, and reminiscent of the beautiful lines of the Groote Schuur Presidential Residence. The interior of the house is tastefully painted in a pallet of soft muted tones. Each room is lovingly and elegantly furnished with precious pieces and antiques. The result is a Downton Abbey atmosphere, ready to inspire a masterpiece. The house consists of the following filming spaces:

Downstairs:

• Elegant entrance hall with gilded mirror and grand staircase;
• Formal Edwardian style Drawing Room;
• Informal TV Room with a retro / leather twist;
• Formal Dining Room that seats 12 people;
• Unique servants’ passage and second, servants’ staircase;
• Gourmet kitchen with pantry;
• Victorian breakfast nook.

Upstairs:

• Romantic girl’s bedroom;
• Teenage boy’s man cave;
• Boudoir style guest bedroom;
• Sumptuous main bedroom and pajama lounge, perfect for the mistress of the house;
• 3 Bathrooms, the Main bathroom receives beautiful natural light and is spacious enough for an easy film shoot.
